Public Procurement Thresholds Revised Down

The EU threshholds for public procurement obligations in the Utilities Directive and Public Sector Directive have been lowered in a Regulation published earlier this week.

The thresholds for supply and services contracts for central government authorities are reduced by €4,000 to €133,000, with the threshhold for other contracting authorities reduced by €5,000 to €206,000.

Works contracts’ thresholds are reduced by €128,000 to €5,150,000.

The Regulation has direct effect, and therefore the new lower limits will apply in the UK automatically from 1 January 2008.
